Pontiac, MI - Get ready for  "A Night in Las Vegas” where the bets may be a gamble, but the help is a sure thing!  The Friends of Oakland Family Services invite you to attend their 2005 Fall Event, "A Night in Las Vegas".  Join us on the “Vegas strip” at 6:30 p.m. on September 9, 2005 at Oakland Hills Country Club.  Attending guests will don cocktail attire or, for the more daring, an outrageous costume depicting their favorite Las Vegas personality.  This event, which promises fun for all, supports the programs at Oakland Family Services, an agency dedicated to bringing hope and healing to children and families in our community.

Help fill Oakland Hills with swingers of a different kind at “A Night in Las Vegas” starting with 6:30 p.m. cocktails on the terrace.  At 7:30 p.m. all the “high rollers” will sit down to a gourmet dinner featuring “Show Girl’s” bouquet of greens, “Deuces are Wild” pork tenderloin medallions, and culminating with “The Ace”, a chocolate layered masterpiece by the pastry chef   Following is a spirited Live Auction, featuring a trip to Las Vegas, a fashionable suite of jewelry, a stay in the guest house at an exclusive winery in the Russian River Valley in California, a martini/cocktail party for 50 with hors d’oeuvres at Orchard Lake Country Club, a surprise trip and more exciting items to be announced.  Guests will then have the opportunity to enjoy casino games or dancing in the Heritage room.

Oakland Family Services is celebrating over 80 years of enriching children’s lives and strengthening families.  The agency offers community programs, which serve infants to seniors, and reaches more than 40,000 individuals representing 12,500 families each year. Through its long history of success, Oakland Family Services has been nationally recognized for innovative programming that helps families and individuals address challenges of education, parenting, stress, addiction, depression, literacy and aging.

Oakland Family Services is once again honored to have Diamond Sponsors DaimlerChrysler Corporation Fund, Ford Motor Company, and General Motors Corporation as the driving forces behind this year’s sponsorships.   Tickets to the “A Night in Las Vegas” are currently available and can be purchased by contacting Linda Irvine at 248.858.7766 ext. 203; the price is $185 for Patrons and $300 for Benefactors. This long-awaited event has been completely sold-out for the past eight years, so make your plans early.  Get ready for an irresistible mix of “Doing a Lot of good…by Being a Little bad”.
