addiction can impact families in many ways: |

Addiction is a complex disease that negatively
affects every aspect of a person's life. The nature of the addiction
process can be stopped and relapses prevented through commitment to proper
treatment, sobriety or abstinence, and recovery, which is a lifelong endeavor.
Oakland Family Services offer counseling services for people who are
dealing with these issues.

OFS substance abuse program offers a variety of outpatient treatment services
for all ages:

Individual Session
Group Therapy
Educational Groups
Family Sessions

Psychiatric Evaluations
Drug Screens
Drivers License Evaluations

In addition to treatment programs, OFS provides a variety of substance abuse
prevention, education and community outreach activities.

GROUP SERVICES: Individuals may be referred to therapy,
educational or support group when it is an appropriate approach to solving the substance
abuse or related problems. Some examples of current groups are:

Project Recovery Intensive Services for Mothers
(PRISM)
PRISM is a comprehensive program focusing on the unique needs of mothers
in recovery. PRISM is designed to assist substance abusing mothers to
become substance free and provide safe and healthy parenting to their
children. Transportation and childcare are provided. |

Adolescent Substance Abuse Treatment Program
Individual and group therapy with a psycho-educational approach to help
adolescents understand aspects of substance abuse and dependence. Our
services are designed to meet the special needs of adolescents 12 – 18 years
