FATHERS' RESOURCE CENTER PROGRAM OVERVIEW & PHILOSOPHY

OFS is dedicated to assisting and supporting fathers about the important roles they play in the lives of their children, families and communities. The Fathers’ Resource Center offers fatherhood education and support groups that include fathering skills development, parenting resources and advocacy for all types of fathers.

The Center also promotes healthy father-child relationships and teaches dads about the importance of providing economic, social, moral and spiritual support for their children.

The Center works with area hospitals, schools, courts, human services and other community organizations to provide outreach and support for first time, young, married, unmarried, divorced and separated fathers. “Father figures” are also welcomed to participate in the program.

The program also serves as an intermediary resource with the court system and mothers to initiate and involve fathers in the parental self-care and nurturing of their children.
