MATURE ADULT & CAREGIVER
SERVICES OVERVIEW
|
Recognizing the dramatically increasing population of mature adults, Oakland Family
Services is
committed to providing diverse individual and group services for geriatric
clients and their families.
In addition to addressing crisis intervention, we also
provide the following: psychiatric evaluation and medical assessment; early
intervention for clients diagnosed with dementia; and counseling
for depression, grief and loss, strained family relationships, retirement and
other life changes.
Oakland Family Services' professionals provide training
for caregivers, assist with staff development for nursing homes, and offer
public educational presentations about the aging population. The
Mature Adult and Caregiver Services team is comprised of psychologists, psychiatric nurses
trained in gerontology, and masters-prepared, certified social workers who specialize
in gerontology, psychiatry, substance abuse and the behavioral management of
dementia clients.
