Results announced: Building a Brighter Future Breakfast attracts highest number of new donors

Nearly 100 people made donations to Oakland Family Services for the first time after learning how the agency is positively changing the lives of people in our community during the 2019 Building a Brighter Future Breakfast. It’s the highest number of new donors since the agency began the annual breakfast fundraiser in 2013.

The event, held April 30, raised nearly $241,000, surpassing the agency’s goal by just over $55,000. The results were announced June 4 at the annual Celebration Event, held at Northern Trust Bank.

From the guests attending this year’s Building a Brighter Future Breakfast, the agency received 39 new multi-year pledges. The money raised this year brings the agency’s total for seven breakfasts to $2,009,036.

“This is a huge amount of money to raise from these breakfasts and really helps Jaimie (Clayton, Oakland Family Services President & CEO) and her team do what they need to do in our community,” said board Chairman Betsy Meter. “We should all be proud, and I think we will continue to see great successes with these breakfasts in the future. We are really so thankful for everybody, and all that you do and contribute of your time and money.”
