Strike a pose: Summer campers try yoga, learn about its benefits

Summer camp kids showed their flexibility and balance as they learned different yoga poses at the Children’s Learning Center in Pontiac Aug. 21.

During a one-day session, kids tried such beginner poses as Downward Dog and Tree. Whether they mastered the techniques or fell on their bottom, the children sure had fun!

“Yoga teaches mindfulness and balance,” said Elizabeth Crenshaw of Yaktown Yoga in Pontiac. “It also is a way for them to learn how to manage stress and work on all areas of physical fitness.”
