From Tears to Triumph: Leah’s Journey at the Children’s Learning Center
At our recent Celebration event, Solomon shared a moving testimonial about his daughter Leah’s transformation — one that reminds us why the work we do at Oakland Family Services and in early education matters so deeply.
After the tragic loss of his teenage son, Solomon became understandably protective of his children. When Leah began attending daycare, she struggled with separation anxiety. Despite trying multiple programs, she spent each day in tears, unable to feel safe or settle in. Her family began to lose hope that she would ever enjoy being in a classroom setting.
That changed when Leah enrolled at our Children’s Learning Center. From the very beginning, the staff took the time to understand her needs and build trust with both Leah and her family. Her teachers offered patient, consistent support — holding her hand, comforting her through tough moments, and creating a space where she finally felt secure. Slowly, Leah’s tears faded. She began to smile, participate, and form meaningful connections.
Today, Leah is thriving. She walks into school with confidence, surrounded by friends, eager to learn and express herself. For Solomon, this transformation has brought peace and reassurance.
When Solomon stood before the crowd at our Celebration event, he didn’t just share a story, he shared a moment of triumph years in the making. We are proud to be part of Leah’s journey, and thankful to everyone who helps make stories like hers possible.
