Group Therapy

At Day One, clients are assigned to group therapy because we know it leads to the best possible outcomes. Group therapy is another space for you to discuss concerns and learn skills that can help improve your situation. Your therapist will let you know which groups are best for you at each stage of your treatment.

We currently offer the following therapy groups:

Perspectives

Mondays 5:30–7:00pm (Virtual)

This group is focused on thoughts, feelings and actions. It will help you understand how to explore your thoughts and make changes to unhelpful thoughts.

Adolescent Co-Occurring

Mondays 6:00–7:30pm (Virtual)

This group is specifically for teens and covers both substance use and mental health topics. Group members will also learn about life skills and making positive changes.

 

Exploration

Tuesdays 5:30–7:00pm (Virtual)

An education-based group that is helpful for clients at the beginning stages of recovery to learn more about substances and how they affect the body and mind.

 

Women’s Empowerment

Tuesdays 5:30–7:00pm (Virtual)

This is a group for women that explores mental health themes.  It is focused on support and includes topics like self-esteem and managing trauma.

 

Journey

Wednesdays 5:30–7:00pm (Virtual)

This is a group for those further along in their recovery journey who are wanting to maintain change. It focuses on processing our recovery and doing so with others who are also engaged in recovery.

 

Daytime Recovery

Thursdays 10:00–11:30am (In Person, Pontiac)

Evening Recovery

Thursdays 5:30–7:00pm (Virtual)

This group is for those who are in various stages of recovery. It includes a mix of educational topics as well as processing topics to help you explore your relationship with substance use.
