Amy Hostinsky has been dedicated to the field of mental health and substance use disorder treatment since beginning her career in inpatient rehabilitation centers. After earning her master's in social work from the University of Michigan in 2011, she worked in private practice, focusing on individuals referred for substance use education, impaired driving, anger management, and domestic violence treatment. 

Since joining Oakland Family Services in 2018, Amy has provided comprehensive mental health, substance use disorder, and co-occurring counseling, offering both individual and group therapy. She specializes in substance use disorder counseling and also supervises others in the field. 

Amy works with clients ages 10 and up, providing a nonjudgmental, supportive space where individuals can openly discuss their thoughts and concerns. She incorporates motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) into her practice and is trained in cognitive processing therapy (CPT) for trauma.
