Celebrating the Success of Building Brighter Futures

On Tuesday evening, Oakland Family Services welcomed supporters, volunteers, donors, and community members to our Celebration Event, an opportunity to reflect on the success of this year's Building Brighter Futures Breakfast and recognize the people who help make our mission possible.

The Celebration Event serves as a chance to share the impact of the Breakfast and celebrate what we can accomplish together. Thanks to the generosity of our community, this year's event achieved incredible results:

  • 245 guests attended the Building Brighter Futures Breakfast

  • 11 new multi-year pledges were secured

  • 4 new members joined the Building Brighter Futures Society

  • 40 first-time donors made a gift in support of our mission

  • $284,003.84 was raised to support Oakland Family Services programs and services

These numbers represent more than a successful fundraising event. They represent children, adults, and families who will have access to the support, resources, and care they need to build brighter futures.

During the evening, we also recognized Laraine Stec, a dedicated volunteer, for her ongoing commitment to Oakland Family Services. Volunteers play an essential role in helping us advance our mission, and we were proud to celebrate the time, passion, and service she contributes to our organization and community.

Guests also heard from Glenda Vidosh, who shared her family's story and the impact Oakland Family Services had on her daughter, Maria, through our Specialized Services for Youth program. Glenda's connection to Oakland Family Services spans both her personal and professional life, as she also dedicated 14 years of service as an employee of the organization. Her story served as a powerful reminder of the lasting impact community support can have on the lives of children and families.

As the evening came to a close, attendees enjoyed time together to connect, reflect, and celebrate the collective impact made possible through Building Brighter Futures.

Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered, sponsored, and supported this year's Breakfast and Celebration Event. Your generosity and commitment make our work possible, and we are grateful to have you as part of the Oakland Family Services community.
