The final donation tally is in, and Oakland Family Services’ 2019 Giving Tuesday campaign officially raised $2,550 to support our children’s mental health care programs!

Giving Tuesday was Dec. 3, and thanks to 50 generous individuals who donated through our Facebook page, on our website and by personal check, we exceeded our $2,500 goal by $50.

Momentum was also built for the campaign by community members who started online fundraisers and shared our social media content, helping spread our message that every child deserves access to quality mental health care when they need it.

Giving Tuesday is an annual day of online giving that takes place the Tuesday following Thanksgiving. It is a chance to give back after the hustle and bustle of shopping on Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday.

In previous years, Oakland Family Services has fundraised on Giving Tuesday to help cover the costs of clients’ therapy sessions and to purchase new furniture for our Day One therapists’ offices.

This year’s donations will help fund our prevention, education and treatment programs. Thanks to donors like you, our programs will continue helping the children we serve overcome mental health issues and trauma to reach their full potential. With issues like depression, suicide and substance use on the rise in youth, these types of services are more needed now than ever.

If you would still like to support children’s mental health, you can make a donation to Oakland Family Services on our Facebook page or our website. Thank you from all of us at Oakland Family Services!
